Wishing you a bless Wednesday as I just came back to work after a long weekend and holiday. Happy New Year, Maal Hijrah to all muslim around the world. May this year will bring us more closer to Allah day by day, and keep praying for the hidayah and guidance from Allah SWT.
Well, I have a good news to share with you! This has been my dream, my desire, my passion, my ambition to be a writer. I was once attending a camp during school to become the Young Writer. It is a fruitful session and really makes me believe in my ability. I was the one an only Science Stream student who get selected to go for this camp. I wouldn't know why my teacher picked me at the first place.
It start when I wrote a Cerpen (short story in Malay language) about a girl who have a very sad and challenging life. The title is "Dirantai Rindu". It is for our Malay language Writing subject. It has been chosen to be one of the story under a compilation of short story (cerpen) for my school. The printing of the book is done by my teacher himself. He really look into my talent. Thanks so much for trusting me "Cikgu".
I got the chance to meet up with all the established writer all over Malaysia. During the camp, I got to learn how to write with a good language, how to develop story plot, how to set the climax part, but it's pretty sad when most of the thing that I learnt, I almost forgot. It takes a lot of practice to be a writer. It's not a one night awakening and suddenly you become a writer. Never.
When I was in University, I did participate in a writing competition and guest what? I won for the 1st runner up prize. That time I wrote about a girl and her journey to find love. She face a lot of trial in a way to find her true love destined by Allah (God). The title is "Bertakhta di Hati". I'm still have it in my Blog if you want to read. It's pretty challenging when I wrote this story. This is because I got to imagine the working situation and the office environment as I'm still in the college and never work in the office before. But it's not that awkward, so it's still OK.
Years passes, I stop write because I start to work after graduation. I didn't find time to write, but I keep my Blog just in case I need to write something. Nobody cares about Blog when everyone got their own IG page (Instagram). Moreover, most of the blogger haven't update their blog anymore. So, Blog nowadays consider as no longer relevant for reader. But, I still write in my Blog for my follower and for those who visiting my Blog. At least they got something, "Ibrah" when they click on my page.
So today, is a very wonderful day as I suddenly got an email from a publisher who wants to publish my story. Even it just under a compilation, but I'm happy enough to be a part of the project. Like seriously!! Are you kidding me?? There're thousand of story sent by all writers but yet they choose my story for the first book?? This is the best feeling I had in the 1st week of Islamic New Year!! The best!! I can't describe it!! Alhamdulillah.. Looking forward on the collaboration!
